Twin City Bar & Grill will always hold a weirdly special place in my heart.

I've been driving by this place since before I can ever remember and have always been curious as to what it was like inside. I had heard that it was a very dark bar and that's about it. Nonetheless, I had always wanted to go inside. Then came 21 years of age! What a glorious thing.

My friend and I were looking for a place to grab a drink after a particularly horrible night and Twin City came to mind. Now, my friend and I are a bunch of goobers to say the least. We LOVE board games, cheap drinks, and unhealthy food. So, much to our surprise and extreme delight, Twin City was literally the best option that there could have ever been for us on this night.

We walked in to see a rather empty place at around 11 pm (Thursday so that's probably why) and went up to the bar. The bartender was incredibly friendly and let us know what our cheapest options would be. I was surprised they didn't have a late happy hour or even Thursday specials, but either way it wasn't too much of a set back. We sat down with our drinks only to see that the place is filled with different games to play. We were in heaven.

Not to our surprise, we got hungry about thirty minutes into our visit. The kitchen was very much closed and we were expecting this but asked anyways. After a little wait, the bartender told us he could go ahead and make us one of the small pizzas they have in the freezer in the back and we said hell yes. It was so nice of him to go out of his way to do something he absolutely didn't have to do.

We had a great time at Twin City Bar & Grill and I can't wait to return!

Went in for Thursday $8 Big Ass Burrito special. No mention of what type of meat online. I ordered a chicken one from our under 18yo waitress who's mom works there. (Mom had to bring us our beers.) Asked what type of topping was in it and she said chedar cheese. Order came, but it was beef and topped with basically chilli and barely warm insidez no cheese. Sent it back, finally got chicken. No sides, sour cream or salsa. Chicken burrito with chilli topping?? Finally an adult checked on us, mentioned order was wrong earlier, she said they don't offer chicken for burrito special. Why didn't waitress mention that?!?! Got bill and there was a $3.50 up charge for chicken on a $8 burrito that clueless waitress DID NOT MENTIONED when ordering. At least their burgers are good when you have competent staff.  Buyer beware..

I stopped in for lunch on a weekday afternoon given it's rave reviews here on Yelp. Maybe the place comes alive at night, but as a lunch spot, it's just OK. The food is basic and forgettable in every way, but in large portions. The dive bar feel doesn't bother me, but the outdoor patio seems to be a place the wandering smokers stop to hang to get out of the wind.

I'd give it another shot late night, but for lunch, I suggest moving on down the road.

This is the platonic ideal of a neighborhood dive. I went here 3 times during a week visit to kc. Somehow everything about it is perfect. Most of the customers were obviously regulars who knew each other but the vibe was perfectly welcoming. Don't expect fancy cocktails but the drinks were strong and cheap. The food, while being basic bar meat and potatoes was also legit great, I would have been happy with it from an actual restaurant. Somehow this place is more than the sum of it's parts if I lived in kc I'd be a regular for sure. There's nothing gimmicky about it so hopefully guy fiery will stay away.

This was bad in every way. If you are not a regular, stay away. Service was awful, negative stars if I could. Took us 2 hours from start to finish and we ordered within 10 minutes of sitting down. Drinks were forgotten, there is no air conditioning, and our food took 45 minutes (two salads and two burgers). The salads were so small, the size of a side salad, and were $8. I ordered the mushroom Swiss and the mushrooms clearly were from a can. Waitress left us to figure out our own tabs on her tablet. I will never be returning.
